Risdon and Tyler Share the Lead After Round Three of the 42nd Bright Realty Texas State Open

LEWISVILLE, Texas – Dustin Risdon, of McKinney, Texas made six birdies to card the low round today at 5-under par, 67. Risdon is tied for the lead sharing the top spot with Nathan Tyler of Tucson, Arizona. Both sit at 5-under par, 211 for the tournament.  Risdon finished his round yesterday with four birdies on his back nine to give him confidence heading into today’s round.  

“I talked some things over with my caddie this morning and told him it was moving day,” Risdon said. “I wanted to make a nice move today, and I felt good coming off of yesterday’s finishing holes.”

Risdon made the right moves and is now tied with Tyler to lead the field going into the final round of play tomorrow. Tyler, a graduate of the University of Arizona, had five birdies and three bogies to complete his round at two-under par, 70 for today. 
Tied for third at 3-under par, 213 are Jamie Elliott of Coppell, Texas, and Pat Grady of Broomfield, Colorado. 

Will Dusenbury (a) of League City, Texas regained the lead in the battle for low amateur honors shooting a 3-under par, 69 today, one-over par, 217 for the championship. Kolton Crawford (a) of Mansfield, Texas was even par today and sits one shot back of Duesnbury at two-over par, 218.

The 72-hole stroke play event consists of 144 contestants. Following 36-holes, the field was cut to the low 50 scores and ties.  50 players survived the 148 (+4) cut. 46 professionals and 4 amateurs are playing the weekend rounds. All four rounds are being contested at The Lakes at Castle Hills, a 7,256 yard, par 72 layout located in Lewisville. The total purse is $125,000, with $25,000 awarded to the champion.

The final round will commence on Sunday, August 5 at 8:00 a.m. The leaders Risdon and Tyler will tee off at 12:12 p.m. Admission is free to all.
