Doan Claims Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship

August 28th, 2018

Grapevine, Texas – Finishing with four birdies for the day, Cameron Doan, PGA head professional at Preston Trail Golf Club, captured the Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship. Doan claimed his first Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship, and first victory as a senior professional, with rounds of 68-69—137, 7-under par.  He took home a $1,700 check for his victory.

“I turned 50 in April, so it was the first time I teed it up as a senior,” Doan said. “I enjoyed playing a shorter golf course, irons in the par 5’s is always fun. It was very relaxed, just glad to be out playing golf with friends.”

Paul Norris, PGA teaching professional at Hawks Creek Golf Club, attempted to apply pressure to Doan during the final round as the two were in the final grouping together, but his 2-under round for the day was not enough to over come Doan's great play. Norris finished in second with round of 69-70--139.
