Two Rounds Complete at the Yamaha Golf-Car Company & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Match Play Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas – Round One and Round Two matches of the Yamaha Golf-Car Company & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Match Play Championship resulted in five of the top ten seeds moving on to the Quarter Final Matches. Tuesday morning’s Quarter Final Matches will feature #1 seed Stuart Deane, PGA professional at Maridoe Golf Club ; Greg Gregory, PGA assistant professional at Hidden Creek Golf Course (#2 seed); Brian Norman, PGA director of instruction at Gleneagles Country Club (#3 seed); Matt Lohmeyer, PGA teaching professional at GolfTEC – Montgomery Plaza (#5 seed); Jon Antunes, PGA director of instruction at HotGolf, Inc. (#8 seed); Britt Patton, PGA director of golf at Vaquero Club (#13 seed), Jordan Ferguson, PGA assistant professional at Vaquero Club (#26 seed) and Reid Parrish, PGA head professional at River Crest Country Club (#27 seed).  
 
Parrish, the host professional, is the highest remaining seed in the field. He was able to best the #6 seeded Todd Balkin, PGA assistant professional at Royal Oaks Country Club, after 22 holes in Round One and #11 seeded John Sikes, PGA director of golf at Hollytree Country Club, 1UP in Round Two.  #26 seed Jordan Ferguson also advanced after defeating two higher-ranked opponents, including #7 seeded Chad Moscovic, PGA director of instruction at Brook Hollow Golf Club, 7&5, in Round One, and #10 seeded Gabe Reynolds, PGA director of instruction at TopGolf – Dallas, 3&2.
 
The Yamaha Golf-Car Company & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Match Play Championship is being contested October 8-10 at River Crest Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, a 6,512-yard, par 70 layout. The Championship is presented by Adventures In Golf, AT&T Byron Nelson and PGA TOUR. The top 32 players on the final 2018 Yamaha Golf-Car Company & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Player of the Year Points Challenge were invited to compete in the season-ending major championship. Quarter Final Matches will be played on Tuesday morning with the Semi-Final Matches following in the afternoon. The Championship Match will be played on Wednesday morning, with the winner taking home $6,000 of the $40,000 Open Division purse.
 
The Championship also includes a Senior Division. The division features eight of the top professionals from the 2018 OMEGA & XXIO Senior Points Challenge list competing for their own $10,000 purse. Today the Senior Division played the Quarter Final and Semi-Final Matches with Stuart Hendley, PGA director of instruction at Dallas Athletic Club (#1 seed) and Tom Strueber, PGA Life Member (#7 seed) advancing to the Final Match.  The eventual Senior Division champion will take home a trophy and a check for $3,000.
