Bingaman Powers Through Rainy Conditions to Take the Lead After Round One of the Prize Possessions | E-Z-GO Eastern Championship

PROSPER, TEXAS - Brandon Bingaman, PGA assistant professional at Bent Tree Country Club leads after Round One of the Prize Possessions | E-Z-GO Eastern Championship. Bingaman fired an opening round 66, 6-under-par at Gentle Creek Country Club. 


Bingaman is fresh off a win at the TPx Communications Western Championship, and is looking to win his third consecutive individual Section Major Championship. “I hit it a lot better today than I did at the Western, that’s for sure. I had a good feel going,” said Bingaman. 


Nine players are within three shots of the lead heading into the Final Round tomorrow.


The Championship includes a Senior Division that is made up of 41 professionals aged 50 or older who are competing for a separate purse and playing at a modified yardage. Three players sit atop the senior division at 2-under-par 70. Dan Walden, PGA head professional at Texas Star Golf Course, Jim Henderson, PGA Director of Golf at Stevens Park Golf Course and Bruce Smith, PGA Director of Instruction at Black Belt Golf Academy. 


This 36-hole NTPGA major championship is the second of four individual stroke play events that comprise the Yamaha Golf-Car Company | Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO / ASICS Player of the Year Points Challenge presented by Adventures In Golf and Cyber Group. 


131 Northern Texas PGA Members and Associates are competing for an Eastern Championship record overall purse of $43,000.The Open Division champion will take home $3,300 and the Senior Division Champion will take home $1,500. The first wave of play in the Final Round will begin at 8:00 a.m. with tee times off of the #1 and #10 tees. This will feature the Senior Division, followed by the leaders of the Open Division in the afternoon wave.

GRAPEVINE, Texas – Registration is now open for the 2026 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open and its qualifying events. The Championship will take place Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, at Grapevine Golf Course. This 46th year of the Championship marks another chapter in the event’s rich history, continuing its tradition as one of the premier women’s tournaments in Texas. The projected overall purse is $80,000. For the third consecutive year, Grapevine Golf Course will serve as host, reinforcing the City of Grapevine’s commitment to supporting and growing women’s golf. Known for its hospitality and spirited community, Grapevine looks forward to building on the success of previous Championships while delivering a first-class experience for players and spectators alike. The 2026 Championship continues its partnership with the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT). Thanks to the support of the ANNIKA WAPT, this Championship allows the top two finishers to receive exemptions into the Epson Tour’s Island Resort Championship, June 22–28 in Harris, Michigan. Additionally, ANNIKA WAPT members will earn points toward the Callaway Race to Q2, with all earnings counting toward the 2026 ANNIKA WAPT Official Money List. A total of 144 players will compete in a 54-hole stroke play format, with a cut to the low 50 players and ties after 36 holes. New for 2026, players shall gain access to compete in the Championship through qualifying events unless they are otherwise exempt.
