GUNTER, TX – Grace Jin (a) wins the 2023 Texas Women’s Open at The Bridges Golf Club and Michele Redman claims the inaugural Ewing Automotive Group Legends of the LPGA Division.

Jin (a) fired a final round score of 33-37–70, 2-under-par to finish the championship at 6-under-par.

“I didn't really have any expectations, just play my own game just like any other day,” said Jin (a) about playing in the final pairing.

Making a tap-in putt for par on the 18th green, Jin (a) was showered with cheers. “It feels good, I haven't had a win in a really long time,” said Jin (a). For her championship win and Low-Amateur honors, she took home a $1,000 golf shop gift certificate and two crystal trophies.

Michele Redman of Plymouth, Minnesota is the first ever Ewing Automotive Group Legends of the LPGA Division champion at the Texas Women’s Open. During the final round, Redman fired a smooth 34-36–70. She finished the championship at a total of 8-under-par overall and two strokes ahead of the competition.

The win was a boost to Redman’s confidence going into the season, “It’s nice to get one [win] under my belt as the season gets going,” said Redman. When asked about her play, Redman responded with “I hit it good, I hit it really good. It was nice to just be consistent…. It's been a while since I’ve won individually.”

The newly formed division had 22 competitors vying for a purse of  $75,000 thanks to Ewing Automotive Group. Redman received $13,500 for her win.

Eleven professionals made the cut after round two and Gracen Blount finished the championship as the low professional. In her first professional event, she fired rounds of 71-70-74 to finish at 1-under-par and tied for eighth on the overall leaderboard. She earned $7,500 for her finish.

For the third consecutive day there was a hole-in-one. Kodi Nolen (a) carded a 159-yard hole-in-one on the 15th hole with a 7-iron. “I thought I hit it in the bunker,” said Nolen (a) when she initially walked up to the green. To her surprise the ball was in the hole. This is the third hole-in-one of the event. The previous two have been on the 17th hole.
