Noon / Westacott (a) Take Lead After Round One of the Lajitas Golf Resort & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Pro-Scratch Championship

LAS COLINAS, TX – The team of Richard Noon, PGA teaching professional at The Golf Center at The Highlands, and his amateur partner Shawn Westacott sit at the top of the leaderboard after Round One of the Lajitas Golf Resort & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO Pro-Scratch Championship. They fired an opening round of 8-under-par 63 to take the lead into tomorrow’s final round. They managed two eagles and four birdies during Round One.

One shot back of the leaders are the teams of Clark Dennis, PGA TOUR professional on the Champions Tour, and amateur partner Roger Marcincuk as well as Corbin Renner, assistant professional at Shady Oaks Country Club and amateur partner Blake Vinson. Both teams played during today’s afternoon wave, while Noon/Westacott (a) played during the morning wave. Because of this, tomorrow Noon/Westacott (a) will tee off during the afternoon wave, and Dennis/Marcincuk (a) & Renner/Vinson (a) will play during tomorrow’s morning wave.

New for this year, the Championship includes a Senior Division that is comprised of nine teams with participants paired together aged 50 or older. These teams are competing for a separate $2,450 purse and playing at modified yardages. The team of Jim Henderson, PGA director of golf at Stevens Park Golf Course, and amateur partner Trip Leon lead this division after Round One at 7-under-par 64.

The Four-Ball Stroke Play Northern Texas PGA major championship is being conducted at Las Colinas Country Club and features an Open Division field of 68 teams of one PGA professional teamed with one scratch amateur. Open Division teams are competing for a share of the $18,550 purse. Amateurs will be awarded gift certificates.

GRAPEVINE, Texas – Registration is now open for the 2026 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open and its qualifying events. The Championship will take place Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, at Grapevine Golf Course. This 46th year of the Championship marks another chapter in the event’s rich history, continuing its tradition as one of the premier women’s tournaments in Texas. The projected overall purse is $80,000. For the third consecutive year, Grapevine Golf Course will serve as host, reinforcing the City of Grapevine’s commitment to supporting and growing women’s golf. Known for its hospitality and spirited community, Grapevine looks forward to building on the success of previous Championships while delivering a first-class experience for players and spectators alike. The 2026 Championship continues its partnership with the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT). Thanks to the support of the ANNIKA WAPT, this Championship allows the top two finishers to receive exemptions into the Epson Tour’s Island Resort Championship, June 22–28 in Harris, Michigan. Additionally, ANNIKA WAPT members will earn points toward the Callaway Race to Q2, with all earnings counting toward the 2026 ANNIKA WAPT Official Money List. A total of 144 players will compete in a 54-hole stroke play format, with a cut to the low 50 players and ties after 36 holes. New for 2026, players shall gain access to compete in the Championship through qualifying events unless they are otherwise exempt.
