Lauren Isenhower • June 19, 2023

IRVING, TX – Cameron Doan, PGA director of golf at Preston Trail Golf Club leads the field at the Club Car | XXIO Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship after 18 holes. Doan carded five birdies on the day to shoot 32-36–68, 2-under-par.

Doan, fresh off his start in the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship last month is a three time champion of this event and has his eyes set on tying the record of four wins. The record was tied last year by John Sikes, PGA director of golf at Hollytree Country Club. Sitting in second place with an even-par score is Sam Randolph, PGA director of instruction at Mira Vista Country Club. Below Doan and Randolph on the leaderboard are five professionals tied for third at 1-over-par.

At least five professionals will earn an exemption into the Senior PGA Professional Championship hosted in Port St. Lucie, Florida on October 26-29, 2023. Doan is already exempt into the championship by earning a spot on the Corebridge Financial PGA Team and playing in the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. Additionally, five alternate spots will be determined tomorrow. The final group will tee off at 10:39 a.m. tomorrow morning.

The 61 player field is competing for a record purse of $15,500 and tomorrow’s champion will take home $1,900.
