Deadline Approaching - 2019 Energy Producers, Inc. Texas Women's Open at Firewheel Golf Park

DALLAS, Texas – The deadline for the 2019 Energy Producers, Inc. Texas Women’s Open at Firewheel Golf Park is quickly approaching. The entry deadline for all contestants is Monday, July 1 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. This year’s championship is presented by The City of Garland and will be held conducted at Firewheel Golf Park – Bridges Course (Masters/Champion) in Garland, Texas. Online registration is available at www.ntpga.com. Contestants do not have to be residents of Texas to play.

The 54-hole stroke play event will consist of 144 professionals and amateurs competing for a $50,000 projected purse. The field will play 36-holes before being cut to the low 50 scores and ties. The champion will take home a first place prize of $10,000. In addition to the first place prize, the 2019 Energy Producers, Inc. Texas Women’s Open at Firewheel Golf Park champion will receive an exemption into the LPGA Tour’s 2019 Volunteers of America Classic.

The field will include the following exempt players should they choose to participate: (1) Past champions; (2) Top 10 professionals and ties from the 2018 Texas Women’s Open; (3) Top 5 amateurs and ties from the 2018 Texas Women’s Open; (4) LPGA Tour Members; (5) Symetra Tour Members with Priority A or Priority C status; (6) Ten exemptions from Junior Tour qualifying; (7) Two sponsor exemptions.

Unless otherwise exempt, amateurs who are 17 years of age or younger (as of Sunday, July 7, 2019) shall gain access to the 2019 Energy Producers, Inc. Texas Women’s Open at Firewheel Golf Park via qualifying tournaments conducted by the following organizations: Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour (All American Tour), Southern Texas PGA Junior Tour (Prestige Tour) and Legends Junior Tour. Additional information on specific qualifying tournaments can be found on each respective organization’s website.

Entry fees for the event are as follows: Amateurs – $290; LPGA/PGA Members and Associates – $340; Other Professionals – $390. The entry deadline for all contestants is Monday, July 1 at 5:00 p.m. CDT. All entries must be received by the Northern Texas PGA via online registration, email, mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person by the entry deadline.

About the Texas Women's Open
The Women's Texas Open was played from 1935 - 1955. Over the span of two decades, the event was held 17 times - 13 years at River Crest Country Club and four years at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. The event was conducted by the Fort Worth Women's Golf Association, supervised by River Crest's longtime professional A.G. Mitchell, and was last played in 1955. Some of the game's greatest names captured the event including Babe Zaharias who won the title five times, Aniela Goldthwaite, a three-time winner, and Betsy Rawls, Beverly Hanson, Polly Riley, and Betty Jameson who each captured the title twice. The event was revived in 2001 by the Northern Texas PGA to promote the game to female golfers throughout the region and the name was changed to the Texas Women's Open.

GRAPEVINE, Texas – Registration is now open for the 2026 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open and its qualifying events. The Championship will take place Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, at Grapevine Golf Course. This 46th year of the Championship marks another chapter in the event’s rich history, continuing its tradition as one of the premier women’s tournaments in Texas. The projected overall purse is $80,000. For the third consecutive year, Grapevine Golf Course will serve as host, reinforcing the City of Grapevine’s commitment to supporting and growing women’s golf. Known for its hospitality and spirited community, Grapevine looks forward to building on the success of previous Championships while delivering a first-class experience for players and spectators alike. The 2026 Championship continues its partnership with the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT). Thanks to the support of the ANNIKA WAPT, this Championship allows the top two finishers to receive exemptions into the Epson Tour’s Island Resort Championship, June 22–28 in Harris, Michigan.
