Doan Positioned to Defend at the Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship

LEWISVILLE, Texas – Cameron Doan, PGA head professional at Preston Trail Golf Club, sits atop the leaderboard following the first round of the Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship hosted at The Lakes at Castle Hills. He fired an opening round 34-33–67, 5-under-par.


Doan is looking to win his fourth straight Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship and make the trip to Port St. Lucie Florida in October for the 33rd Senior PGA Professional Championship. 


Six players are within four shots of Doan heading into the final round tomorrow. Henry Cagigal, PGA assistant professional at Rockwood Golf Course, is one shot off the lead at 4-under-par and will play with Doan in the final group at 11:00 a.m. They will be joined by Sam Randolph, PGA director of instruction at Mira Vista Country Club, who sits at 3-under-par.


The seventh hole surrendered a hole-in-one today to Paul Norris, PGA teaching professional at Hawks Creek Golf Club. The hole was playing 193 yards and Norris hit a 4-iron.


The 55-player field is competing for a share of the $11,250 purse, with the winner taking home $1,300. In addition to the purse, 37 competitors in the field are competing for four qualifying spots into the 33rd Senior PGA Professional Championship in Port St. Lucie Florida on October 21-24, 2021. 


Club Car is the title sponsor for the Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship. The Championship is presented by Cadillac and supported by Golf Channel and John Deere.

GRAPEVINE, Texas – Registration is now open for the 2026 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open and its qualifying events. The Championship will take place Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, at Grapevine Golf Course. This 46th year of the Championship marks another chapter in the event’s rich history, continuing its tradition as one of the premier women’s tournaments in Texas. The projected overall purse is $80,000. For the third consecutive year, Grapevine Golf Course will serve as host, reinforcing the City of Grapevine’s commitment to supporting and growing women’s golf. Known for its hospitality and spirited community, Grapevine looks forward to building on the success of previous Championships while delivering a first-class experience for players and spectators alike. The 2026 Championship continues its partnership with the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour (WAPT). Thanks to the support of the ANNIKA WAPT, this Championship allows the top two finishers to receive exemptions into the Epson Tour’s Island Resort Championship, June 22–28 in Harris, Michigan. Additionally, ANNIKA WAPT members will earn points toward the Callaway Race to Q2, with all earnings counting toward the 2026 ANNIKA WAPT Official Money List. A total of 144 players will compete in a 54-hole stroke play format, with a cut to the low 50 players and ties after 36 holes. New for 2026, players shall gain access to compete in the Championship through qualifying events unless they are otherwise exempt.
