DENTON, Texas
– Chad Moscovic, PGA director of instruction at Brook Hollow Golf Club, captured the Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship with impressive rounds of 65-67—132, 10-under par. This win marks his second overall Individual Major Championship and second Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship.
Moscovic began the round sharing the lead with PGA head professional at Green Tree Country Club, Adam Headley, but by hole #9 he had jumped to the top of the leaderboard by two strokes. Defending champion Matt Lohmeyer, PGA teaching professional at GOLFTEC - Montgomery Plaza, started the final round one shot back of lead and also attempted to catch Moscovic, but couldn’t do so. Moscovic made birdies on #12 and #13, and cruised to a four shot victory and a first place check of $3,000.
“The win feels good and it was fun,” Moscovic said after his round. “[My] putter was solid these last couple of days, I didn’t miss many putts that I should have made, and I didn’t make a bogey until the fourteenth hole. It was really about minimizing the errors, which I did and I didn’t have any idea I was leading. I knew I was in [contention] for sure but I didn’t know I was ahead by three or four strokes. It was fun!”
The field was also competing for seven qualifying spots into the 54th PGA Professional Championship set to take place April 25-28, 2021 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. At the 54th PGA Professional Championship, the top 20 finishers will earn a spot into the 103rd PGA Championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The 103rd PGA Championship is scheduled to be played May 20-23, 2021.
Moscovic, who has played in the National Championship three times, will lead six other PGA Professionals, who qualified today from the Northern Texas Section to the 54th PGA Professional Championship. Joining him will be Headley, as well as Gabe Reynolds, PGA teaching professional at TopGolf - Dallas, Cameron Doan, PGA head professional at Preston Trail Golf Club, Greg Gregory, PGA head professional at Hidden Creek Golf Course, Vince Jewell, PGA teaching professional at Woodbridge Golf Club, and Brandon Bingaman, PGA assistant professional at Bent Tree Country Club. Matt Lohmeyer, 2019 NTPGA Player of the Year, was already exempt for the 54th PGA Professional Championship via the “Section’s pick” which will be awarded annually, beginning in 2020, to the Northern Texas PGA’s reigning Player of the Year.
This 36-hole NTPGA Section major championship was the third of the four individual stroke play championships that comprise the Yamaha Golf-Car Company & Srixon / Cleveland Golf / XXIO / ASICS Player of the Year Points Challenge presented by Adventures In Golf. It also served as a qualifier to earn points to make the 2020 Yamaha Golf-Car Company & Srixon / Cleveland Golf Match Play Championship, Texas Joe Black Cup team, and Levy Cup team.
The Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship was presented by Club Car and OMEGA and supported by Titleist / FootJoy, NIKE, and TaylorMade. Supporting partners of the Championship were AT&T Byron Nelson, Golf Channel, and PGA TOUR. The Championship was conducted at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch (South & North Courses), a 6,924-yard, par 71 layout located in Denton, Texas.
The Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship featured 99 PGA Members who were competing for a spot in the 54th PGA Professional Championship and a $26,000 projected purse.

The PGA of America announced today that Ronny Glanton, PGA head professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course, will be inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame. Glanton, a native of Mineral Wells, Texas, began his career in 1981 as an Assistant Professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson, Texas. Upon achieving PGA of America membership in 1984, he took over as Head Professional and has been at the Richardson facility ever since. He is the only member to serve twice as President of the NTPGA (2006-07, ‘18-’19). Glanton played a key role in the PGA of America’s relocation to Frisco, Texas. He is a passionate advocate for junior golf, developing impactful programs like the Sherrill Park Learning Center and the Hawks junior golf team, which have introduced thousands of new golfers to the game; his leadership in the creation of “The Ronny” Golf Park on the PGA Frisco campus further expands community outreach and player development. Among his previous awards are PGA of America Golf Professional of the Year (2020), NTPGA Golf Professional of the Year (1999, ‘07, ‘19), NTPGA Bill Strausbaugh Award (2003-05, ‘08, ‘14) and NTPGA Merchandiser of the Year (1994), plus induction into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2022. Glanton actively supports his colleagues, raising over $100,000 through pro-ams for PGA Members facing medical hardships. He’s also been a four-time contestant in the PGA Professional Championship, five-time contestant in the Senior PGA Professional National Championship and seven-time participant in the PGA TOUR Byron Nelson (now the CJ Cup Byron Nelson). Glanton is a three-time NTPGA Major Champion, six-time Senior Division Major Champion and a 17-time member of the NTPGA Joe Black Cup Team, which he has also captained three times. The PGA of America Hall of Fame originated in 1940 at the suggestion of famed sportswriter Grantland Rice. It is the highest honor the PGA of America can bestow upon its membership or ambassadors of the game.
