Open Division Final Round Play to Resume Tomorrow Morning

ROCKWALL, TX – Rick Woodson, PGA instructor at Sherrill Park Golf Course carded a final round 36-35–71, 1-under-par to win the Senior Division at the Prize Possessions | E-Z-GO Eastern Championship.

Woodson began the day one stroke off the lead after an even-par first round. Speaking on his championship performance, Woodson said, “I hit it really well this week. It was some of the toughest conditions we have played in for a long time yesterday for about eight holes.”

“It’s been a while,” said Woodson about being in the winner’s circle for the first time since the 2010 Section Championship. “Our Section is so competitive, great players at every level. So to win in this Section is really cool.”

The Senior Division was made up of 36 professionals aged 50 and over, playing for a separate title and purse of $12,800. Woodson earned $1,600 for his major championship victory and dedicated the win to his daughter.

Due to a cumulative three hours and 10 minutes of weather delays, the Open Division still has five holes to finish tomorrow. Final Round play for the Open Division will resume at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Brandon Bingaman, PGA assistant professional at Bent Tree Country Club and JJ Killeen, PGA director of golf at Red Feather Golf and Social Club and Katelyn Sepmoree, assistant professional at Willowbrook Country Club are tied for the lead at 3-under-par in the Open Division. Killeen birdied six of his last seven holes to finish with a 4-under-par, 68 in his final round before play was suspended due to darkness. He will wait to see if his stellar finish will hold up tomorrow morning.

This 36-hole Northern Texas PGA major championship is the first of four individual stroke play events that comprise the Yamaha Golf-Car Company | Srixon / Cleveland Golf / Asics Player of the Year Points Challenge presented by Adventures In Golf.

The Prize Possessions | E-Z-GO Eastern Championship is presented by AT&T Byron Nelson, Branded Bills, GT Golf Supplies, Levelwear, Nexbelt, PGA TOUR, and PXG.
