MIDLAND, TX – Chad Moscovic, PGA director of instruction at Brook Hollow Golf Club leads the Joyce Crane | Veritex Bank Section Championship by one shot over JJ Killeen, PGA director of instruction at 4ORE! Golf.

14 players in the Open Division are at even par or better after the first round.

The Championship features a Senior Division, comprised of 30 professionals. Bruce Smith, PGA director of instruction at Black Belt Golf Academy, has a one shot lead. He fired an opening round 35-36–71 to finish at one-under-par.

10 players are within three shots of the Senior Division lead heading into the final round.

After reaching 101 degrees today, the final round forecast is calling for a high of 80 degrees and sustained winds of 20-25 mph, with gusts up to 30-35 mph. The field will be tested by the extreme West Texas conditions as a cold front rolls through the entire western portion of the state.
