Stankowski Occupies Lead After Round One of the Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship

Paul Stankowski, PGA Life Member and former PGA TOUR member, sits atop the leaderboard after Round One of the Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship. He fired a solid 5-under-par 67, carding six birdies and one bogey to open the Championship. Cameron Doan, defending champion and PGA head professional at Preston Trail Golf Club, Rob Shields, PGA Member and Owner of the Winsford Group, and Rick Woodson, PGA teaching professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course, sit one shot behind Stankowski at 4-under-par, 68.
Qualifying for the 32nd Senior PGA Professional Championship is being held in conjunction with the Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship. Thirty-six (36) professionals of the 58-man field are attempting to qualify this week. The top four professionals, plus the champion if registered for the qualifier, will represent the NTPGA at the National Championship, presented by Cadillac and supported by Golf Channel and John Deere, at PGA Golf Club, Wanamaker & Ryder Courses, in Port St. Lucie, FL on October 15-18. Stankowski is attempting to qualify, as are Doan, Shields and Woodson.
The Senior PGA Professional Championship brings together a field of contestants representing the PGA of America’s 41 nationwide Sections.
The 2020 Club Car Northern Texas Senior PGA Professional Championship, supported by The Golf Channel and John Deere, is a 36-hole stroke play event being contested at Hurricane Creek Country Club, a 6,658-yard, par 72 layout located in Anna, Texas. GRAPEVINE, Texas – Registration is now open for the 2026 Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open and its qualifying events. The Championship will take place Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, at Grapevine Golf Course. This 46th year of the Championship marks another chapter in the event’s rich history, continuing its tradition as one of the premier women’s tournaments in Texas. The projected overall purse is $80,000. Thanks to the support of the ANNIKA WAPT, this Championship allows the top two finishers to receive exemptions into the Epson Tour’s Island Resort Championship, June 22–28 in Harris, Michigan. Additionally, ANNIKA WAPT members will earn points toward the Callaway Race to Q2, with all earnings counting toward the 2026 ANNIKA WAPT Official Money List. A total of 144 players will compete in a 54-hole stroke play format, with a cut to the low 50 players and ties after 36 holes. New for 2026, players shall gain access to compete in the Championship through qualifying events unless they are otherwise exempt.
